When I was very young I was without words - this is the norm for small, small people...
Then one day, I pointed and said *Birdie* - it was the first word that I had uttered, and what a wonderful choice of word it was!

As we are (hopefully?) experiencing the start of Spring, it has been my pleasure to watch the Blackbirds, Bluetits, Robins, Starlings, Doves, Magpies and even our local Red Kites fly, court, and scurry around in the garden. Bliss.

Blackbirds have been spied bathing in various discarded pieces of crockery (as already previously mentioned), and a in large blue plastic Marc Newson Bucky II chair, which sits outside. It is a fab chair (bought in Glasgow many moons ago from an amazing exhibition showing his futuristic designer pieces) and makes for a very covetable, and comfortable luxury birdbath. Oh, and a drinking pond for a local furry featured feline visitor!

Over the last couple of days I have been updating, revising some of my previous *Birdie* illustrations, and composing some fresh new ones. Whilst trying to scan in some old slides, it occurred to me that the original film with its sprocket holes, would make an interesting graphic frame for my images. So, here are 5 to have a nosy at...

I would like to get them printed to sell. If you have a particular fave, please drop me a line - it would be good to get some feedback!

Hope they make you smile! Happy Spring...

The lovely Katie and Sarah (head honchos) have only gone and used an image of my FELT GEMS *SPLICED* earrings on their new flyer - magic! You can peruse the site to your hearts content, and find all sorts of fabby things to brighten your day, week, month or years!

I absolutely love Chris Eckersleys Byrd House(s) - as seen on the left - and wish I could buy a whole hi-rise estate of them for the Blackbirds who are starting to hop about in our garden, displaying their feathers to their intendeds!  Very heart warming to see them back again.

This year I intend to create more *Birdie* piccies, and use them in a new venture - should be fun! More about that later... but, in the meantime you can see one of my fave images on the right, it was inspired by the vision of a happy Blackbird, who was oblivious to me watching him, and bathed, in a discarded piece of crockery, in my back garden!

The striped vessel is based on my 1 pint blue & white Cornish Ware cup - yes 1 pint! I love it and have to imbibe at least 2/3 big cuppas a day - Earl Grey, of course.

Enough for now, I'm off for a cuppa!

When I was young, I used to be called Spotter - makes sense really!
Quite handy having an initial and surname, which, when joined together, make a new proper word - neat...

But also, my initials made up the title of my most dreaded School Mathematics Project book - yuk! Anyone else remember them - school during the 60's/70's.

And finally,... Old friends still call me *Potter* - which makes me laugh, as it sounds like a name throwback to the 50's. I used to find it a bit embarrassing, but Harry Potter has done all us Potters, a favour - not cool, but more acceptable these days...ha ha ha.

...quite liking the opportunity to burble on....

So, today I have finally sorted out a basic blog - wonder how long this will last!

I have stacks of paperwork to do, and am procrastinating... I will do it though! Just need to start inputting the little  numbers in the correct little boxes. Piles of invoices, receipts, and remittances are requiring close scrutiny - it is simply a tedious job which twists my melon each year...

Anyway, I really ought to stop fiddling about doing this and get on...I'll count to 10...
1.................2............3.........4 (does anyone else do this sort of thing?!)..........5..........6..................7................8...................9......................9 and a 1/2.......................10
